Shout out to Jennifer Bliss for recommending that we read Romans via The Message translation. I just finished chapters 1-3 and found it to be a more explanatory read than through the New International Version (NIV) alone. However, as I answered the ABC's, I found myself referencing the NIV. Some of the verses made more sense to me in the NIV, but getting another glimpse with The Message was very helpful. Long story short, I think that both The Message and whatever other translation you are using go well together to receive good insight into Romans. It takes a little longer to read, but it's worth the price of admission.
